Thrush

Thrush is a common yeast infection caused by the overgrowth of Candida albicans; a fungus naturally found in your body. It can affect both men and women, often causing discomfort in the genital area or mouth. For women, the symptoms of thrush include itching, soreness, abnormal vaginal discharge, and pain during urination or intercourse. Men may experience redness, itching, or discomfort around the head of the penis. Thrush can also cause white patches inside the mouth or on the tongue. Factors such as poor hygiene, a weakened immune system, or certain medications can trigger an overgrowth of yeast, leading to thrush.
